Located approximately 22 kms away from Bangalore . Established in 1971, it comprises of the safari park with a herbivore safari, a lion safari, picnic corner, crocodile farm, serpentarium, pets corner, and a museum besides a park consisting of pre-historic animals. Teeming with exotic species of wildlife, the park boasts of astonishing variety of trees like sandal, jalari, chujjullu, neem, tamarind, zizyphus among others. The 104 sq km park is home to panthers, lions, tigers and a large variety of birds.

If you have an artistic bent of mind and like classical music and dance, Nrityagram is a great weekend getaway. The most high profile of all art schools in the country, Nrityagram is situated in Hessaraghatta, 35 kms from Bangalore . Set up in 1990 in a 10-acre agricultural land leased by the Government of Karnataka for 30 years, a sincere effort has been made to nourish different dance styles and martial arts through the ancient system of 'Guru Shisya Parampara.'

This is a huge single rock. situated approx. 60 kms from Bangalore near Magadi town, on Bangalore-Magadi Road . No charges, i.e its free to climb. Below this rock there is a temple where people mainly visit for praying. But, very few go to the top and whoever goes takes the relatively easy round about path. But, there is a difficult path which is straight up. Next the temple there is a botanical garden maintained by the government of Karnataka.

One of the popular retreats of Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore, Nandi Hills offers breathtaking getaway of the weary tourist. Tipu's Drop, a 600m high cliff face provides a magnificent panoramic view of the beautiful terrain. Nandi Hills is 60 Kms north of Bangalore . In March 2005 the Toursim department decided to make Nandi Hills a popular destination by introducing a 5-star hotel, ropeway and para-sailing facility.
