On 31st January 1948 , Mahatma Gandhi's last rites were performed over here. The memorial is set in a garden with fountains and a variety of exotic trees. The cremation spots of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi are just a short walk away.
