Its snow-capped peaks, verdant valleys, rolling meadows and crystal lakes have beckoned lovers of nature since ages. Dotted with lakes, Nainital has earned the epithet of 'Lake District' of India. Almora is 71 kms from Nainital. It is perched on a 5 kms long horseshoe-shaped ridge, 1,650 metres above sea level. The town looks out over a fertile terraced valley and four ranges of hills - Banari Devi, Kasan Devi, Shyahi Devi and Katarmal.

§ Garjiya Devi Temple
14 kms from Ramnagar, on the way to Ranikhet, is a huge rock in the midst of river Kosi. This place has been named Garjia Devi after the deity. The temple is visited by thousand of devotees from different parts of the state. A large fair is held here on kartik Poornima.
§ Naina Devi Temple
The charming hill resort of Nainital gets its name from the Goddess Naina Devi. A temple dedicated to the deity stands here.
§ Adventure Sports
NaukuchiyaTal, approximately 1800 meters. The trail provides a grand stand view of the main peak of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary it's eastern veiw and further right on to the pillars of the Central Kumaon region.
